There's a day for everything

My My How people get carried away with their words
The writer of the below graf was trying to make a point but did it so poorly I had to laugh:
And how many students have you seen stretch to make a point only to fall flat.
Even I fell victim to rhetoric over clear writing. In a story about Afghanistan I wrote: "Young men learn to shoot and ride horses at an early age." My editor scrawled across this, "And old men learn at a later age."
"An estimated 50,000 Dominican women are estimated to be victims of human trafficking, and this figure does not include either men or children"Obviously the number does not include men or children becuase it is only referring to women.
